    ICS Commissioning Commissioning
Commissioning is a quality-focused process for optimizing occupant comfort, energy efficiency, as well as construction and operating costs of a project. It includes verifying and documenting that building systems are planned, designed, installed, tested, operated and maintained to meet applicable codes, rating systems, and the owner’s expectations.

High-performance building design requires expert planning, coordination and implementation to meet a project’s indoor air quality, energy efficiency, system functionality and sustainability goals. Through coordination with the design and construction team, ICS’ provides an integrated commissioning process with emphasis on the initial acceptance period through the life of the facility.

ICS’ has served as Commissioning Authority on a wide range of residential, healthcare, commercial and institutional projects throughout the U.S., while adhering to the industry standards as defined by Building Commissioning Association, AABC Commissioning Group and ASHRAE.

ICS’ Commissioning experience includes, but is not limited to, facilities complying with California Green Building Standards Code, known as CALGreen, and projects pursuing various levels of LEED certifications.

  • ICS Energy Services Energy Services
Energy security and climate change will continue to push us to find ways to reduce consumption, increase efficiency, and use renewable fuel resources in facilities of all types. The U.S. Department of Energy has conducted studies, showing that buildings in the U.S. consume 39% of the country's energy and 68% of its electricity. This rate of consumption is neither sustainable for the environment, nor is it considered smart business.

An energy evaluation is key for achieving alternative efficiency goals, first cost budgets, and building life-cycle costs. ICS’ energy analysis experience includes, but is not limited to, energy management systems, energy conservation strategies, new advance technologies, utility bill analysis, energy auditing, energy reporting and energy modeling.

  • ICS LEED® LEED®
Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) is an internationally recognized green building certification program created by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC), a non-profit organization dedicated to sustainable design and construction. LEED is a third-party verification system that evaluates the environmental performance of a building, based on the following five categories: Sustainable Sites, Water Efficiency, Energy and Atmosphere, Materials and Resources, and Indoor Environmental Quality. Projects are certified at one of four levels--Certified, Silver, Gold or Platinum--depending on the total number of points it receives.

Through the development of tailored green building strategies in the planning and assessment phases, ICS is committed to assisting project teams meet their LEED certification goals.

  • ICS CALGreen® CALGreen®
California Green Building Standards Code, known as CALGreen, is the first mandatory statewide standards code for green construction, effective January 1, 2011, with a non-residential supplemental update as of July 1, 2012.

Through rigorous analyses and thoughtful considerations of various building code requirements, ICS is able to develop a set of recommendations that capitalize on areas of overlap in LEED and CALGreen, resulting in efficient and cost-effective compliance.
